The existing wall details with beam holes and chimney flues, staircase landings, cellar trench and well shaft provide a good indication of the original structure. Remains of the curtain wall around the castle, in particular the well-preserved town gate with the adjoining gatekeeper's house and the market square in front of it, are evidence of the former medieval town of Freudenburg. A historical circular route provides information about the history and multi-layered cultural and historical heritage of Freudenburg at a total of 9 stations. Not only medieval sites, but also sites of Jewish life, such as the Jewish cemetery and the synagogue square, are explained.
