Although Mettlach is a small town, it is almost better known internationally than Saarbrücken. This is because Mettlach is home to two of the biggest highlights in Saarland: firstly, the global company Villeroy & Boch, whose high-quality products can be found in the most far-flung corners of the earth. And then, of course, one of the landmarks of Saarland: the Saarschleife
Here, nature has created a natural phenomenon that is second to none. You can discover the Saarschleife by boat, bicycle or hiking boots, and you have a magnificent panoramic view from the Cloef lookout point in Orscholz (directly opposite).
