Triggering a rush of the senses – that’s what the creators of this garden had in mind. Each of the eleven garden rooms framed by hedges encourages this in its own way. The scent garden leads its visitors around by the nose. The touch garden is about understanding things with your own hands. In the sound garden, sound objects set the tone. There is something for the eye everywhere, from horticultural rarities in the gravel garden to the color compositions in the color rooms.
In the labyrinth of copper beech hedges, visitors cannot get lost. The human-high corridors guide visitors until they finally arrive back at the exit. The large stone that stands in the middle of the labyrinth also provides orientation. Raising children's awareness of nature and the environment and creating spaces for encounters with nature is the goal of the “creative, green learning world” in the Garden of the Senses. This newly created part of the garden was created with LEADER funds. Playful contact with nature, creativity and active experiences are the focus here. A barefoot path, a flowering meadow, a vegetable and orchard with an insect hotel, raised beds and much more were created especially for kindergarten groups and school classes.
Various events are regularly offered in the garden. At the “May Lights - Garden in Light” event, extraordinary light installations immerse nature in a unique color atmosphere. This special atmosphere is musically accompanied by performances by various bands and ensembles.
During the popular “Rose Days” in June, the roses in the Garden of the Senses are in full bloom. A rose and garden market with expert advice then attracts visitors from the region. Art, culture and cuisine are not neglected either.
