Even as a child, I preferred walking to cycling. The mountains and valleys in our region were more of a deterrent than a motivator for me. It's a good thing that someone invented the e-bike or, to be correct, the pedelec.
Since then, I've been travelling almost every week on my electric bike. And I'm rediscovering my homeland, so to speak. Recently, a tour took me to the shelter and hiking hut run by the Reidelbach citizens' association. A very idyllic spot. Ideal for a stopover - great view and barbecue area included. The citizens' association even makes the hut available to guests free of charge for overnight stays. The people of Reidelbach have renovated this gem themselves with a lot of voluntary work and money from the EU Leader funding programme. The detour is really worthwhile. Whether by bike or traditionally on foot, anyone who appreciates a beautiful view and a great atmosphere is welcome.

Her suggestion also has a very personal background, as the Waderner explains in more detail below: "As I grew up in Reidelbach, I know what it looked like here before: from two old neglected weekend houses, to a temporary 'rubbish dump', to a cosy hut where you can treat yourself to a little break." Our reader knows that this favourite place has a very special history. And she concludes: "Now that a handful of idealists from Reidelbach have created this wonderful spot themselves with a lot of passion and dedication, this place is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful insider tips in Saarschleifenland."
