SZ-Aktion-Mein Lieblingsplatz - Every step here offers an intense experience of nature
We like to go barefoot at home. But going for a walk in the woods without shoes is new territory for many people. The unfamiliar experience of walking through an idyllic forest without shoes and crossing various surfaces such as small streams, pebble strips or wood chips can be experienced on the 1.5 kilometre long barefoot trail in the Losheim district of Waldhölzbach. Leave your shoes in a shoe rack at the entrance and walk barefoot over hill and dale, past small ponds and always accompanied by the bubbling of the Holzbach stream and the chirping of birds. There is a pleasant tranquillity here and in spring and summer there is greenery and blossom along the edge of the path - a great balance to the sometimes hectic and noisy everyday life. A place that invites you to pause for a moment. If you explore the forest barefoot, you move with more mindfulness and experience your surroundings much more intensely. Every step is consciously perceived, the feeling for your own body increases with every metre. Cold stream water, round pebbles, mossy paths - every step is a little adventure here. You can take an almost meditative walk of a different kind on your own, for example after a long day at work, or you can go on an excursion with family and friends, perhaps in combination with a hike on one of the intersecting premium hiking trails. Especially for children, the experience of exploring nature without shoes is something very special. It is not always necessary to come up with new superlatives and events for an enjoyable leisure activity. Sometimes it is a lasting, valuable experience to simply get rid of old habits and get to know a different side of nature on our doorstep.
