Portal board Saar-Lückner-Runde
From the railway station in Beckingen, the Saar-Lückner loop first leads to the Saargarten.
Located directly on the river, this park is part of the international "Gardens without Borders" project and is particularly worth a visit for families with its play equipment and neighbouring football golf course. The route continues along the Saar to the barrage in Rehlingen. The route continues through Beckingen into the Haustadter valley. At Düppenweiler, it is worth making a short detour to the historic copper mine.
After Düppenweiler, the route leads through a beautiful meadow landscape past the Valentinushof farm and up into the densely wooded Lückner. In Oppen, the route continues to the Odilienkapelle chapel in the Lücknerwald forest. The water ripples soothingly from the spring below the chapel before feeding the stream further downhill. Legend has it that it has healing powers, especially to restore sight to the blind - which is why people from all over the neighbourhood have long made pilgrimages here to wash their eyes. The Saar-Lückner-Runde continues through Oppen and Reimsbach along the idyllic Mackenbach stream. The tour continues through Erbringen to Honzrath. After a beautiful forest passage, you reach the small Hellbach pond. After a short rest, the route leads through Beckingen back to the railway station in Beckingen.
