Boundless cycling - Central main route

This route connects Rhineland-Palatinate, Luxembourg and the Saarland. From Konz at the mouth of the Saar, you cycle along the Moselle cycle path to Oberbillig opposite the confluence of the Sauer and Moselle, then through the wine villages of Nittel and Palzem. From Remich, the route continues upstream on the Luxembourg side to Schengen, where European history was famously written. The route leads over the Moselle bridge to the Saarland wine village of Perl. You leave the Moselle valley on the Saar-Lor-Lux cycle route and the Saarland cycle path. You cycle over the heights of the Saargau down into the Saar valley to Merzig on the Viezstraße. From here, the route follows the Saar cycle path downstream to the north and back to Konz via Saarburg.
